Party Invitation

You are all invited to HeART&Soul's first birthday party over at http://www.ukchristiancrafters.net/ This will be a very laid back, lots of time, no pressure event, taking place over two weekends with a challenge a day. The theme will be Praise and Thanksgiving. So if you fancy taking part or even just joining in with the chat pop over and join in the fun. Creation

Another challenge from the cyber party at heART&soul was to create something on the theme of Creation. I have wanted to try needle felting a picture for ages, so I thought I would give it a go and did a beach scene. I really enjoyed doing this. The beads were a bit fiddly to sew on though.

Trying something new

Moving out of my comfort zone here to try an art journal type page. Over at heART&soul one of the challenges in the Cyber Party is to create something inspired by the verse from John 1:1 'In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God and the Word was God". I wanted to try something different from scrapbooking and having been inspired by following blogs such as Rinda's I thought I would get the paints out and try some art journalling.

Cyber Party

This weekend is party time! Over at heART&soul it is party time this weekend. The first Arty Crafty Cyber Party is on! There will be challenges, fun and games and chat. The challenges can be done in any medium - not just scrapbooking. So why not go check it out.

Follow

One of this months challenges over at heART&soul is a word inspiration challenge. There are several challenges on the go each month, so you are sure to find something to inspire you. I decided that I wanted to try something different from scrapbooking for this challenge, so decided to try some needle felting again. I used a cookie cutter to make the sheep shape and used stencil letters to felt the word 'Follow'. I am going to do several of these challenges onto small squares and then join them together into something bigger.

As promised I can now tell you all about the new venture that has been taking up quite a lot of my time recently - heART&soul.

A group of friends from around the UK have got together to start up a new website and forum - especially for Christians who enjoy doing crafts - UKChristianCrafters. The forum will cover a wide range of crafts, so far we have altered art, cardmaking, creative embroidery, cross-stitch, knitting, crochet, felting and scrapbooking. If the craft you take part is not there, don't worry, it can be added! As well as talking about our crafts and taking part in the challenges we will be able to strengthen our Christian life as well by looking at Gods word together, sharing with praise and prayer. We hope to have on-line cyberhappenings and maybe even a retreat or two.
