Facecloths
Mum and I have been teasing Andrew for the last couple of weeks about what we were going to knit for his birthday. Suggestions ranged from hats, gloves, scarves and socks to the more silly - trousers and shorts. And of course we were going to knit them in pink. So we decided we should actually knit him something - we decided on these facecloths (a change from dishcloths!). They both have HP on them for Harry Potter and a golden snitch!

Birthday Boy!
One of Andrew's presents was Bop-it Extreme 2, which has proved to be hilarious and rather difficult to do!

Every time it is somebody's birthday and I go looking for cards I remember why it is better to make them! All the cards seemed to be the same ones as last years, except this one with 10 jokes in it. Andrew thought it was very funny that he got two of them!

My 'baby' and I - not so much of the baby though! He is rather pleased to be in 'double-digits' now!

Shoes - who needs them?
New shoes for school, which starts on Wednesday - don't need them if you are a teenager!! That is certainly the case for my eldest who decided to wait till today to go looking for some, didn't see any that he liked so didn't get any. So he goes back to school on Wednesday wearing his old pair from last year. I have decided that this is not my problem! Does he have any joggers for PE on Monday - no for the same reason as the shoes - am I bothered - no, he can explain that on Monday if he doesn't find some before then. I have decided that at 15 it is up to him to get these things.

So that was our shopping trip today. The boys preferred to go to Games Workshop to have a look - funny that! They have been busy over the past few days catching up with some gluing and painting of their armies - and roping me in to help.
No I am not getting my own army!!

Pokemon
Pokemon - the craze that will not go away!!
It is now many years since John got his first Pokemon game for the Game Boy, he first started collecting Pokemon cards and got this Pokemon board game, watching the Pokemon movies - yet he is still playing it!! Just what is the fascination of these little creatures. If you think you have seen a bad film you need to see these films!!! John still plays the games on his DS, although he has been persuaded to part with his playing cards. Andrew never quite got into it as much as John, but he still has the games for his Nintendo.
I suppose it keeps them quiet on a rainy day at the end of the summer holidays.
This has been a week for the dentist for me. On Thursday I got a filling fixed and then on Friday I had a large back tooth removed - not fun! My mouth is starting to feel a better but not up to chewing into a large steak just yet!

Wedding Finery
The wedding was held in the National Piping Centre in Glasgow. Both the ceremony and the reception were held there, the first time I have been at a wedding held somewhere else than a Church. The ceremony was really nice and the meal at the reception was lovely. We were also lucky enough to stay overnight there and it was great. It was great to meet up with friends that we haven't seen for ages.

Hen Night

A couple of weeks ago I was at a friends Hen Night in Glasgow. It was a great night, catching up with people I haven't seen for some time. We hired a stretch limo to arrive in style, after finishing off a couple of bottles of champagne, the meal was at Peters in Hyndland Street. We all got our photos done by a charicaturist, a very kind one!
This photo is off me wearing my masks, the theme of the night being "A Night at the Opera".
