Word for the Year

Following Ali Edwards idea of choosing a word for the year again, this year my word is FOCUS. I have chosen this word as I would like to bring more focus and energy into various parts of my life this year.

I am going to FOCUS on:

my studying - I start my next OU course in February.
my faith - reading more and being more open and sharing my thoughts
my hobbies - actually doing some scrapping, knitting and crochet, instead of just thinking about them
my family life - spending quality time with the boys and husband,
myself - allowing myself time to do the above, and to focus on health

I found a couple of quotes to go with these:

'Goals provide the energy source that powers our lives. One of the best ways we can get the most from the energy we have is to focus it. That is what goals can do for us; concentrate our energy.' Denis Waitley.

'When you write down your ideas you automatically focus your full attention on them. Few if any of us can write one thought and think another at the same time. Thus a pencil and paper make excellent concentration tools.' Michael Lebouef.

'It's not what's happening to you now or what has happened in your past that determines who you become. Rather, it's your decisions about what to focus on, what things mean to you, and what you're going to do about them that will determine your ultimate destiny' Anthony Robbins.

Have you chosen a word for the year?

Love the word you've chosen....and also the qoute 'when you write down your ideas you automatically focus your full attention on them'....I knew there must have been a good reason I write everything down.

Nice post Fiona. I'm simply amazed by how many people do the "word for the year." As you know, mine is "horizon," and I've got a couple projects planned for it. Need to get off the computer and out of my jammies first; I guess I could use a little focus myself! LOL!
