The essay writing is going well today, only another 200 words to go, then a tidy up and get references sorted out. The essay is on issues relating to the Mexican-US border region and is really quite interesting. This first section has been using DVDs instead of books, which I found interesting but not as easy to flick back through to check when writing the essay. Although it did show more clearly how bad some of the living conditions are for the Mexicans.
I came across this video on Scrapdolly's blog when I was doing some blog-hopping (in my breaks honest!) and I thought I would share it with you. The video works in a similar sort of way to a Palindrome which reads the same forwards and backwards, except the video reads the opposite backwards and its meaning is changed as well.
Enjoy!
A place where I can share some things from the different bits of my life and my hobbies.

The mess after the fun!
The family reckon I should show you all the mess that I make when crafting. This is what my craft room looked like on Sunday night after the cybercrop - I don't think it looks that bad - I have seen it worse!!
What have I been up to today - well studying, my first assignment for my OU course is due next weekend. I hate making a start on these essays and always find it difficult to get started - I have now got an outline plan so hopefully will get down to start writing it tomorrow.
And it was snowing again this morning - thankfully not much and there is none left, but really getting a bit fed up with it all now.

More fun
This is another LO I prepared for a class at the cybercrop at FaithscrappersUK. This one was called Prayer Help and the verse is from Romans 8: 26-27 'In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God's people in accordance with the will of God.'
This LO was from a class by Carolyn and is based on the Lords Prayer. I have used the tags with various images and words on them to represent ideas from the Lords Prayer.
It has been a really good weekend, with lots of fun and sharing together - chat rooms can be great places. There are still some challenges that I am working on and will complete this week.
I am working tomorrow - which is the first time since June that I have been called in - I only work on supply. It is quite a thought at the moment!!

Progress so far
This is from my class - Pray Continually, from the cybercrop. When I thought about praying I thought about circles - how we pray to God, he answers, we are encouraged to pray more. The verse is 1 Thess5: 17 'Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.!
The first challenge at the weekend was by Naomi. Naomi reminded us that God wants us to be specific about prayer, so the LO is about our prayers for this year. The verse on mine is from Mark 11:24 'Whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it and it will be yours.'

Junque Journal
As I don't have any LOs that I can share with you yet, as the ones I have been working on this week are for the Cybercrop over at FaithscrappersUK this weekend, I thought I would share this video with you. It is about making a Junque Journal, for you to keep all your bits and pieces in.
I have started making one, I took a plain notebook from Tesco and have been inking and scrunching and gluing pieces of paper on. It is a great way to use up all those odd bits of paper and paper that I will never use on a LO. I hope to finish it soon and then will share the photos with you.

Pancake Day
As you all know yesterday was Pancake Day, so we had to have pancakes for tea!
Everyone agreed that they tasted yummy!
Here is the promised photo of Andrew with his arm in the cast, we go to see the orthopeadic consultant on Monday, so hopefully he won't have it on for too long.

Cybercrop Time
I have still been feeling under the weather with sinusitis this weekend - a trip to the doc today and have some antibiotics - so hopefully will be feeling lots better soon!
Something this will cheer me up this coming weekend though is the Cybercrop over at FaithscrappersUK The fun starts on Friday night and continues throughout the day on Saturday. The theme of the cybercrop is The Power of Prayer. Why not come along and join in the fun. You will have to register on the forum but you have plenty of time to do that before Friday - if you mention you saw the CC advertised here then Babs will authorise your registration quickly.

Document 2010 - January
Shimelle and UKS are having a year long project, called Document 2010. I thought it would be fun to join in and document something for each month this year.
I found some Karen Foster calendar pages amongst my stash (it's amazing what you find when you look!!), so am going to use them. I bought an American Craft D Ring 12x12 folder and some multi-pocket page protectors - that's all I'm buying for the project - honest!
Each month will have two pages with a multi page protector between them. Here are January's pages
I have just realised thought that it is almost the middle of February and I have not taken any photos yet this month - so I had better get a move on!!

New Blog
I thought I would share with you this new blog - Reading Together. Gordon has started it to encourage us to share in reading the Bible together. The idea behind it is to read passages together over a week and Gordon will make a couple of blog entries each week on the passages, then hopefully we can share comments together. This week the passage is Galations 1. Why not hop over and have a look.
My other news today is that Andrew had a trip to A&E this morning and came back with his arm plastered! (Photos will follow!!!) He hurt it at Kickboxing on Friday and as it was not getting any better we thought we had better get it checked out. Luckily it is only a greenstick fracture, so should mend in a couple of weeks, although he thinks he deserves several days off school (I think not) as it is his left arm!!!

New Books
I love getting new books and this week I got two books delivered by Amazon (well yes, I did order them, but shh! don't tell Gordon)
This first one was Pagemaps for Scrapbooking. I am hoping that this book will give me some inspiration when I badly need it. Sometimes I just look at the photos and pretty paper and I am not sure what to do with them, so hopefully the sketches in this book will help me.
The second book was this one 'You can still wear cute shoes', written by Preachers Wife Lisa McKay. I am really looking forward to reading this one to see if the problems/challenges of being married to the ministry are still the same here as in the USA. Watch this space for my thoughts on the book.
Over at Faithscrappers Challenge Blog the next weekly challenge went live on Friday. You can find it here
On the first Friday of the month we are going on a journey with Gods People, the first being Abraham. We did start this project last year, but due to various circumstances we had to stop it in the summer. Well we decided to start again, so if you missed it first time round, pop over to the blog and play along. This is my LO for the challenge.

Hats
Yesterday at Church we had a 'Hats for Haiti' day, where everyone was to come along wearing a hat and asked to donate some money for relief work in Haiti. Eldest son decided that he like wearing this hat and would just wear it all day. He thinks he looks like Indiana Jones!!
I did not get to Church yesterday as I have a sore throat at the moment, but I do have a hat to show you. I have just finished knitting this hat and scarf set, done in Patons Diploma Gold DK, which is a lovely soft wool.
What to knit next I wonder?
