First Workshop

I'm just back from doing my first workshop at our local craft shop and it went very well. It was for a beginners stamping class and there were 6 ladies there, some had done some stamping before and some hadnt done any. They were all lovely and enjoyed themselves. Here are the cards we were doing.

This first one was quite simple, the flowers are embossed, then coloured in with pens. The stamps were unmounted sets from Woodware. I used a corner punch for the edges of the card and the mounts.

The second one was using shadow stamps for the background then the flower stamps, mounted on yellow, then green card with green and yellow ribbon behind it.

The third one was stamped and embossed, then mounted on gold with the corners rounded and the image stamped and embossed again straight onto the card.

The last one we really didnt have much time for, it was stamped with Versamark then chalked, then the paper torn and edges inked, a bit of ribbon down the side with a couple of brads at the top.

I'm falling a bit behind with the photo prompts, but I have managed to do Heart today. This is a heart made with Hama beads which my children made for me.

Back Again

Feeling a bit better now, back to work tomorrow. I really hope thats all the bugs Im going to get this year, although I do still feel a bit tired. Never mind three more working days until the Easter hols, then off school for two weeks and off to Rome two weeks tomorrow. Gosh I'd better get thinking about what clothes to take.
Finished making my second Birth year CJ for Andrew, but forgot to take a photo, it had to be posted today. I really did it almost the same as John's though.

The photo prompts are back on her space:my space and here are my latest two offerings. I think I will need to make them all into a mini book or something.
Here are music and sew. No, I don't actually play the keyboard or sew much for that matter, but they are in the house.

Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mothers Day to all mums everywhere. I had a lovely day today, got breakfast in bed. The children had made cards and I got a book, "The Tenderness of Wolves", X-men trilogy on DVD (I love super hero films) and some choccies. I baked a cake this morning and the children decorated it, with some help from their dad!

I've also been busy catching up with the photo prompts from her space: my space. The ornament one is of another wood carving that Gordon brought back from Malawi.

Plastic is some of mountains of Lego that we have accumulated over the years,

Soft is some of Andrew's soft toys collection and Curvy- just cos I liked it!

Irish Connection

Haven't done a weekly challenge on UK Scrappers for a few weeks so managed to get this weeks done. The challenge was to have an Irish connection, be in Monochrome, use blossoms and have groups of 3. I struggled with the Irish connection then it hit me, I live in Stranraer which is the ferry port for the HSS to Belfast. So headed off to take some photos of the ferry and here is the LO.

Went out on Thursday night for a meal with Gordon for our anniversary, it was really nice and the food was good. We almost had the restaurant to ourselves, there was only one other couple there!

Digital photography class last night was also good. We were shown how to make a panoramic view from several photos using the layering technique. I will now have to get out (if it ever stops raining) to find a nice view and practice taking some photos.

20 Years

It's my wedding anniversary today, we've been married for 20 years, sounds a long time doesnt it. Going out for a meal tomorrow tonight as Gordon is working tonight and then we are going to Rome in April for a few days on our own. We weren't getting each other presents but Gordon gave me a lovely necklace as a surprise. This is an altered canvas that I had done for him, the picture is of Keswick in the Lake District, where we have spent many happy holidays (although not always in such good weather!!)

Today's photo prompt is Alive. I have still got a few to catch up with, but am really enjoying getting used to my new camera.

Blue Day

Went back to work today so feeling tired again tonight. I went to the Health Shop and got a tonic so hopefully in a few weeks I will be overflowing with energy. Well at least a bit more than I am at the moment.

Almost finished making my Circle Journal, just got the sign in pages to do now. Here is my LO for it. This is John when he was born, almost 13 years ago. Where does the time go?

Yesterdays photo prompt was blue, which is one of my favourite colours. It was hard to decide what to do but I was using some of these ribbons for my CJ so I though I would take a photo of them.

Lazy Sunday

Another lazy day, still not feeling very great, so had a long lie this morning. Started making one of my Circle Journals for UK Scrappers. I have joined two new CJs, birth year journals for each of my sons (well I couldn't do one without the other could I?). This idea is that everyone does an entry on something that happened in that year, which I think is a really nice idea.

Also managed to take some more photos for the daily prompts. Today's was Brick and I thought I wasn't going to be able to do it today, as its raining heavily here and I was not going outside to get wet. Then I remembered that our fireplace is brick so I took a photo of that. The other two are Reflect and Storage.

Photos

I was off work again yesterday and in bed all day today with a sore throat and no voice - yes the rest of the family think that's a good thing! I'm not too sure though as I missed going to the craft fair at the SECC, probably a good thing for my credit card.

I still managed to go to Digital Photography last night though. We were looking at layers which I found very interesting. Finally managing to feel like I'm getting to grips with Elements - although still a long way to go.

Here are another two photo prompts - Green and Tap

Photo Challenge

Check out the new photo blog by two very talented ladies, Anita Mundt and Kirsty Wiseman, at her space:my space. They are posting a title a day to challenge you to take a photo. Well having just got my camera I thought I'd give it a go. I am quite a bit behind but have done two to start with. Also have to admit to only using the new camera on auto setting - but at least I've started using it.

New Camera

Our new camera arrived today. Been thinking for a while about getting a DSLR so have finally got a Nikon D40. Gordon used to do a lot of photography so hopefully he will now get back into it again. I think he was finally persuaded when he was in Malawi he was the only one with a film camera!! Just have to learn how to use it now.

Being very organised this month, I have just finished my Februarys pages for the 2007 Journal on UK Scrappers. Pictures this month are of the flowers I got for Valentines, my mums birthday and Andrew with his Pupil of the Week award. Films seen this month were Miss Potter and A Night at the Museum. I used papers from February Scrapagogo's kit, BoBunny Heart Throb.

We have also booked a holiday to Rome, just Gordon and I, for 4 nights in April. My sister is coming down to look after the kids - I hope she knows what she's let herself in for! They are planning what games they are going to play already.
