School sports day yesterday and thankfully the rain stayed away, it was freezing but dry. Andrew enjoyed himself and did really well this year. He got two seconds and a third - he was fair chuffed with himself. Just one more week to go now before the holidays, we dont stop until Friday 6 July this year, I can't wait. All the children at school are getting tired now (as are the teachers).
A place where I can share some things from the different bits of my life and my hobbies.

Weekend Away
I was away at the weekend to the Dunblane Hydro to meet up with my friend from Aberdeen. We get together every two years for a girls weekend with no husbands or kids. We had a great time, although no photos as it rained for the whole weekend. Not to be put off by the rain we went shopping in Perth on Saturday. Had a great time trying on masses of different clothes, even managed to find some to buy!
It's dry here at the moment so hopefully Andrew's sports day will go ahead as planned this afternoon.

Rain stopped play!
Well Sports Day at school actually. Today was supposed to be our Sports Day and guess what - it was raining. Although not ones to be put off easily we waited until the very last minute before cancelling. It was due to start at 1.30 pm and as the weather seemed to be clearing up in the morning we thought we could ahead. But no, as soon as we had got all the stuff over to the playing fields and had just arrived with the children, the heavens opened and it rained and rained and rained. So we all had to headed off back to the school. We have rearranged for next Wednesday so hopefully it will be dry then.

Team Challenge
I have finally got around to doing our next team challenge on UK Scrappers. The challenge was to do a LO on a celebration theme and use journalling. I have done my graduation from a couple of years ago and the journalling stamp is a Lil Davies one. This is also the first time I have used my doodling template - I rather like it, so will probably do lots more LOs with doodling on them.
Yesterday was Andrew's school fun day, so we all went along, it was fun, despite the weather being a bit damp. At least it didnt actually rain during the afternoon. The boys came home with pockets full of silly toys and things - as if we need more junk!!! But I suppose it is in a good cause.

School Trip
Yesterday was our school trip, we took the HSS ferry to the Folk Museum and Transport Museum in Belfast. The whole school went (all 9 of them!!). We had a great day despite the weather not being that brilliant. Thankfully it really only rained heavily in the afternoon and by that time we were in the Transport Museum. The Folk Museum is like a village with shops and houses all done to look like they would have in the early 1900's. There was even a pub!
The children thought it was great but didn't really fancy living in any of the houses. They also had a school with the wooden desks in rows and an open fire right behind the teacher. I don't think they fancied that much either!
The Transport Museum was also good with lots of trains, buses and cars. Not many of my photos turned out though because of the lack of lighting. There was also a Titanic exhibition and a part about aviation.
The crossing was nice and calm and they all had their tea on board on the way home. It was a long day though and everyone was really tired at school today.

Watercolours
What a glorious day today - very very hot! I started to do some gardening this afternoon then decided it was really too hot so I stopped.
This iris stamp has to be one of my all time favourite stamps, I bought it many many years ago, and have used it frequently in many different ways.
I did this last card by creating a wash using watercolour pencils, then tore the edges and inked them with chalk ink, the middle section is a word stamp done by water-misting, then when it was dry I stamped the small flower in the bottom right corner, also using water-misting, the flower in the top left was stamped separately onto watercolour paper then cut out and added on using a 3d foam pad.
I had another workshop tonight, this time on stamping with watercolours. The first two cards I have done using a water-misting technique. After applying the colour to the stamp I then sprayed it lightly with water and then stamped onto watercolour paper.

Pirates!
Just a quick post to say we're back from seeing Pirates of the Caribbean 3. I thoroughly enjoyed it (so did the kids). Didnt even really notice how long it was. Orlando Bloom as Will Turner was as good as ever. I even made us wait till the very end of the credits to see the extra bit!!
There seems to be a few good movies coming out this summer that I would like to see - Harry Potter, Fabulous 4 and Shrek 3 - to name a few.

Reach
Feeling a bit better today. Did a scrapbooking workshop tonight at my local craft shop. This is the LO we were doing. It is of John and Andrew last month at the park in Duff House, Banff. I used Basic Grey Lollippe papers. To get the patchwork effect I cut 3" squares into 2 triangles, than placed them together to make the shapes, I went round the edge with a black pen to make the stitching effect. The workshop went well and the ladies really enjoyed the class.

Tired
I am soo tired today I don't know what is wrong. I think I need my holidays, but there is still 5 weeks of term to go until we finish. Life just seems to be very busy at the moment.
Yesterday I went to see my friend who has just had a baby girl, she is absolutely gorgeous. It was really nice to have a cuddle of her, but definately better to be able to hand her back!!
This is a LO I did for the cyber crop on UKS a wee while back. It is of Andrew, several years ago. He had great fun playing with that box - who needs toys! The paper is Cherry Arte.

Ribbons
Treated myself to a monthly subscription to Little Silver Hat ribbon kit, the first one arrived yesterday. It is absolutely gorgeous, filled with lovely co-ordinated ribbons, flowers and even a super little tin for altering. Can't wait to get using it!
This weekend has been a complete wash-out weather wise, I dont think it has stopped raining for the last two days. So unfortunately I couldn't get out to the garden (what a shame!).
Saturday was Andrew's BB Display, which went very well. That's him moving up to the Junior section now after the summer - where does the time go!
