The technique challenge for July over at 12 months in view was to use Distress Inks as a background by stamping little squares in different places, rather like a patchwork. I don't have an ink blending tool (yet) so had to use a foam brush, which I don't think worked as well. I then stamped and doodled on the page.
A place where I can share some things from the different bits of my life and my hobbies.

Scavenger Hunt - Sunset
We are very lucky in our new house to be able to view some lovely sunsets from our windows, looking across Edinburgh. I took this one for Rinda's Summer Scavenger Hunt No 5 a sunset.

Home for the Holidays
It must be summer - John is now home for the summer holidays from University, with Buzz of course. Which of course meant bring all his staff back with him from his student halls. He has been back now for a couple of weeks and we have managed to get him all unpacked and the stuff stored away for September. He had his accommodation sorted out for going back - this year he is in a flat with 3 other students. I am pleased to say that he has passed all his first year exams - only 3 more years to go!!

Spring Zine
On a roll now! Running a bit behind with Bernice's http://12monthsinview.blogspot.co.uk/ but as that is nothing new not getting stressed about it. I completed my Spring Zine last night.
First I did the background by adding the colours using Paint Dabbers
March page, although I did add another couple of stamped trees after I had taken this photo (I must get my stamps in order)
April - not sure why the photo is sideways - sorry.
May.I have also done the background for my Summer Zine.

Little Details
Every Thursday Carolyn over athttp://messmuddleandfun.blogspot.co.uk/ is doing a series called Little Details. For this week I thought I would show you a photo of the light switch in my bedroom - it really is the wrong way round! It was strange getting used to this at first but you soon get used to it.
Why not pop over to and see some other little details and even join in yourself.

Summer of Colour Week 1
I hope you are all sitting down when you read this - I actually did some crafting last night!! I did my first page for the Summer of Colour - the colours were citron green and turquoise, I dont think the photo shows the colours very well but they are the right ones, or at least as near as I had to them.
I thought I would show you a photo of my new craft space - under the spiral staircase just outside hubbie's study. There is also a bookcase on the other wall which is filled with boxes. Now just to get some arty stuff on the walls to brighten the space up a bit.
Not quite the craft room that I had in my last house but I think it will do very nicely. Where do you do your crafting?

Summer Projects
Summer has finally arrived here, the weather has been great over the weekend and I managed to get out into the garden for some work - and some relaxing.
This year will be the first for several years that I am not working in a school and starting the countdown to the long holidays. It feels rather strange. I am now working in an office two days a week and will only get two weeks off in the summer. I think I am missing the build up to the summer hols and the thought of being off for a considerable chunk of time!
So I thought that signing up for some projects over the summer might help.
First there is Rinda's Summer Scavenger Hunt - a photography hunt. Rinda has posted a number of things to find and take a photo of, this is usually great fun and I am looking forward to getting out and about with my camera.
There is also Summer of colour. Each week a different colour combination is posted and the challenge is create something using these colours. This is now the third year of this project and I joined in the first year, but not last year, but am hoping to do some this year.
Have you signed up for any summer projects?
