Something new!

boot camp

Always a sucker for a freebie me!
And always keen to try something new!

I have just signed up for Creativity Boot Camp, thanks to Mel for pointing it out to me. It is a two-week intensive e-course running from 6-18th June, which is designed to take your creativity to the next level.

Well my creativity could do with being taken to the next level, so I thought why not! Bit apprehensive about the intensive bit though!! The best bit, of course, is that it is free, so there is nothing to lose really!

Why not go check it out and I might see you there!

Follow

One of this months challenges over at heART&soul is a word inspiration challenge. There are several challenges on the go each month, so you are sure to find something to inspire you. I decided that I wanted to try something different from scrapbooking for this challenge, so decided to try some needle felting again. I used a cookie cutter to make the sheep shape and used stencil letters to felt the word 'Follow'. I am going to do several of these challenges onto small squares and then join them together into something bigger.

8:8 Photo

In blogland this week, or at least amongst the blogs I read!, there is a challenge to go into your computer where you keep your photos, choose the 8th folder and the 8th photo, then show it and talk about it. Well never one to be left out of something - here is mine. It was taken in 2007 on a forest walk we did. There is a lovely forest park not too far away from where we live. It has various walks through the forest and a great adventure playground for the kids - and  a nice coffee shop too!

I took this photo as I like the way the trees looked as you looked up at them, they seemed very tall and to go on right into the sky!

Why not have a look at your folders and choose the 8th folder and the 8th photo and blog about it!

New things!

Gosh it must be the week for starting new things. First the new website and forum and tonight I started going to WeightWatchers!! I went once before many moons ago and did lose a lot of weight then, but another child and many years later the weight is piling on again. So I decided - no more procrastination - and went and signed up. I really liked the flexibility that is the Weightwatchers plan - if I want a little glass of wine I can program it in to the week.

As I have a significant birthday in August this year (21 - I wish) (well to be honest not really!) I would like to have lost a fair amount by then.

I have also managed to get the gym twice this week - so am feeling very righteous.

All is revealed!

As promised I can now tell you all about the new venture that has been taking up quite a lot of my time recently - heART&soul.

A group of friends from around the UK have got together to start up a new website and forum - especially for Christians who enjoy doing crafts - UKChristianCrafters. The forum will cover a wide range of crafts, so far we have altered art, cardmaking, creative embroidery, cross-stitch, knitting, crochet, felting and scrapbooking. If the craft you take part is not there, don't worry, it can be added! As well as talking about our crafts and taking part in the challenges we will be able to strengthen our Christian life as well by looking at Gods word together, sharing with praise and prayer. We hope to have on-line cyberhappenings and maybe even a retreat or two.

If this is something that would interest you then please do hop on over and check us out - we would love to have you join us!

Website is here and you get to the forum by clicking on Community and following the link.

Look forward to sharing with you there.

The week ahead!

This week sees the start of Christian Aid Week and I know there are lots of activities/fundraisers happening where we are this week!

Christian Aid works really hard to try and bring relief to those whose lives are blighted by poverty, they do a lot of hard work. You can find out more by clicking here

I would urge you to give to this charity in some way this week.

Now on a more personal note - I have been working hard on a new venture that I couldn't say anything about. But I will soon be able to let you in on the secret. Things are progressing and I will hopefully be able to tell you all about later this week.

In the garden

Yesterday was spent in the garden - trying to tidy it up so that I can plant some new bedding plants. We have also bought a small greenhouse sort of thing this year and planted some seeds in it a couple of weeks ago. Unfortunately the wind blew it down last week! We have managed to save a lot of the seeds, but now have no idea what ones are what - oh well it will make for an interesting display!!

While cutting back trees I discovered a blackbirds nest - so have now stopped cutting back in that area (well any excuse). Managed to get a couple of photos though.
